We invite you to join Bridge Projects for its continuing virtual Echo/Locate series with Los Angeles based artist Patty Wickman.
Wickman creates paintings and drawings that are abundant not only in the visually lush scenes the artist renders, but also in the spiritual meaning and art historical references that radiate from her works. The artist’s images of everyday domestic scenes are layered with finely articulated graphite drawing and a range of gestural to more highly resolved paint applications of thoughtfully positioned figures, objects, and landscapes that link to historical or religious imagery. Wickman connects the small, mundane moments of contemporary life to something more profound and lasting. The artist will discuss “Circumscribe,” a painting that is featured in To Bough and To Bend, along with other related works in her studio.
Please join us in a conversation with the artist around themes of narrative, symbolism, and faith. A Zoom link will be provided with RSVP a day prior to the event. Note: Echo/Locate events are interactive and communal. Audience participation will be encouraged.
